We strongly recommend using the configuration wizard on the Tech Lockdown dashboard. It will walk you through the installation process.

This help doc will provide an overview of the process.

Open Installed Config Files in System Settings

After Config Files are installed, your Mac keeps it's own copy of the restrictions being enforced. You'll need to use System Settings to remove the Config; deleting the original file you downloaded from the dashboard will not undo restrictions.

Open System Settings on your Mac, and navigate to General > Device Management. You can also search for "profiles":

You should see a full list of the currently installed Config Files. Proceed to the next step to remove them.

Remove Config Files

Next, click on the Config you'd like to remove. You should see it highlighted like this:

Next, press the Delete key on your Mac. You could instead click the Minus symbol near the bottom:

Confirm that you'd like to delete the Config by clicking Remove:

If you've enabled the Uninstall Prevention feature when you first downloaded the Config from Tech Lockdown, you'll now need to copy-paste the removal password from the dashboard:

Config Preset Removal Passcodes

Each Config Preset has it's own removal Passcode. To access them, go to the Tech Lockdown dashboard and navigate to Tools > Mac > Config Presets > Uninstall.

Note that you Tech Lockdown profile will need to be unlocked in order to copy the Passcodes.
