Scheduled rules allow you to customize what rules apply when. Ideally, you can use this to restrict your access to websites or apps that are difficult to moderate with a Content Policy, such as Social Media.

Schedule entries are color code based on the action for that rule:

  • Green: Allow rule.
  • Red: Block rule.
  • Gray: SafeSearch, YouTube Restricted mode, other.

All rules don't have a schedule by default. Without any schedule, the rule will be set to always apply.

View All Schedules

You can see a combined view of all enabled scheduled rules at once on the Content Policy page where all the rules are listed. Simply toggle the calendar view on.

This gives you a birds-eye view of the scheduled rules relative to your current time.

Click a schedule to quickly navigate to the schedule editor for that rule.

This view only shows you enabled rules with a scheduled added. To see all rules, toggle back to the list view.

Add a Schedule

If you want to limit when a rule is active, you can assign a schedule.

You can drag between days to quickly block consecutive days.

On mobile, long-press instead of click to add time ranges.

Edit a Schedule

Click and hold (or long press and hold on mobile) a schedule entry. Then, you can drag and drop it elsewhere. If you want to resize, click (or long press and hold on mobile) the bottom of the schedule entry and drag the handle.

Click or tap a schedule entry to remove it.

Save a Schedule

Make sure to click on the Save button near the bottom of the schedule to tab to save your rule. Unsaved changes will be greyed out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I don't select a schedule?

If the schedule is empty, the rule will always be active. If you want to limit when a rule is active, select some time slots on the schedule.

Can I pick specific dates?

The schedule allows you to pick recurring days/times, not a specific date/time range. This means that if you select the Wednesday column from 9:00AM - 11:00AM, then this rule will be active from 9:00AM - 11:00AM every Wednesday.

How can I prevent myself from changing schedules?

If you lock your tech lockdown profile , some scheduling changes will be prevented.

What happens during an empty (unselected) space on the schedule?

If you assigned a schedule to the rule and the current time is during one of the empty (unselected) spaces, the rule will not be active.

Meaning that if the schedule is for a block rule, the block action won't be applied and access will be allowed during that time period.

If an allow rule, content might be blocked during that time if another rule is blocking what you are temporarily allowing access to.

The same for SafeSearch and YouTube restricted.
